Within the community of real
estate professionals, there are specific agents who represent real estate
buyers, the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). The ABR designation is the
benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. It is awarded by the Real
Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council (REBAC), an affiliate of the National Association
of REALTORS, to real estate practitioners who meet specified educational and
practical experience criteria. Four requirements must be met to attain and use
the ABR designation.
- Successful completion
of the two-day ABR Designation Course.
Successful completion
of the one Approved Elective Course within three years of completing the ABR
Designation Course.
Documentation verifying
five completed transactions closed prior to taking the ABR Designation
Course or closed within three years after completing the Course, in which
the ABR candidate acted as a buyer representative.
Membership in good
standing with the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council and the National
Association of REALTORS.
Membership in REBAC keeps
your ABR agent abreast of current legal and legislative issues that may affect
your home buying experience. Your ABR designee is also part of a larger network
of other experienced buyer representatives who willingly share practical advice
with one another. Only REALTORS who have met all of the ABR Designation
requirements, and have been awarded the ABR Designation, are permitted to call
themselves an ABR designee and use the ABR logo.
Our goal is to team you up with an Accredited
Buyer Representative agent or broker in your area of home buying interest. |
